Backslash Ltd ("us", "we", or "our") operates the PDF Converter / Editor / Scanner mobile application (the "Service").
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
When you access the Service by or through a mobile device, we may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to: the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of your mobile device, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser you use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data ("Usage Data").
The Service uses the camera to scan PDFs. Scan processing is performed on your device. We do not secretly upload your scanned content (such as text, URLs, or Wi‑Fi QR contents) to a developer‑controlled server.
To provide features like History and quick previews, the Service may store scan results locally on your device. This may include scan history items and small thumbnails stored in the app’s private storage. You can clear your history from within the app, and uninstalling the app removes its local storage.
The Service works with files you select (PDFs, images, and office documents). The app stores and edits these files on your device in the app’s private storage or a location you choose via the system file picker.
When you use conversion features (for example converting Word/Excel/PowerPoint or images to PDF), the app uploads the selected file to the server what can generate the converted output and send it back to your device.
Do not upload sensitive content. Avoid uploading documents containing secrets or highly confidential information (for example passwords, private keys, banking credentials, medical records) unless you fully trust the network environment.
The Service can extract text from PDFs using on-device OCR. OCR is performed on your device using Google ML Kit’s text recognition library. ML Kit may download recognition models to your device. We do not intentionally upload your document images to a developer-controlled server for OCR.
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.
